A V8 Supercar can travel more than 200km/h because every effort has been made to ensure it is as safe as possible to do so.

So remember, leave speeding to the pros and belt up!

For someone not wearing a seatbelt, a collision at 50km/h has the same impact as falling from the fourth floor of a building.
Drivers and passengers travelling unrestrained in a car are 18 times more likely to be killed in a road crash than those wearing a seatbelt.
If you're not wearing a seatbelt during a motor vehicle crash, you could be ejected up to 50 metres.
3 out of 4 people ejected from a motor vehicle during a crash will die.
An airbag by itself reduces the risk of dying in a motor vehicle by only 12%, while a seatbelt reduces the risk by 45-60%.

Think you know the road rules?
About 147 people are killed on regional roads in WA each year compared with 88 in Perth - despite only a quarter living in regional areas.
        www.ors.wa.gov.au
In addition to fatalities, non-use of seatbelts was a factor in about 15% of serious injuries sustained in crashes in regional WA but only 5% in Perth.
        www.ors.wa.gov.au
In all areas of regional WA, the proportion of fatalities and serious injuries caused by not wearing a seatbelt is much higher than the proportion of their population.
